The 1 litre large jug is for use with The Candle Maker and fits perfectly into the cradle. The newly designed spout ensures a clean and easy pour. This jug is supplied complete with its own magnetic stirrer.
Instructions for use with the Candle Maker V1 and 2.0
Feed in the flakes: Tip your soy wax flakes into the jug and press the flashing start icon on The Candle Maker unit as normal – if you are planning to melt the maximum capacity 1L of liquid wax you will need to feed the wax flakes into the jug as it melts, this is necessary to avoid jamming the stirrer. Do this by filling the jug with wax flakes half to two thirds to the top, press the start button and keep an eye on the wax as it melts, keep feeding more flakes every few minutes.
Approximately 1.2KG of soy wax flakes will melt to 1 litre of liquid wax.
For those with the original Candle Maker you will need to run phase one twice: If melting the full capacity of wax you will need to run through the initial melt phase at least twice, this is because the unit is programmed to melt up to 500ml of wax to the correct temperature for adding fragrance and you are now melting twice that. Once phase one is complete and the fragrance light starts flashing check to see if all the wax has melted; if not remove the jug wait 5 seconds and then replace on the cradle and push the start button again.
Once the unit reaches the fragrance flashing icon for the second time your wax should all be melted at the right temperature and you can then proceed as normal to the next stage of adding in your fragrance and pressing the flashing icon to proceed.
For those with The Candle Maker V2.0 you press the middle button marked “2” to start large pitcher mode: You still need to feed in the flakes gradually as above but you do not need to run phase one twice.
Magnetic Stirrer tips:
Each jug/stirrer combo is tested at our factory. There can be slight variances with the stirrers so we recommend that you always use the matching stirrer that comes with your pitcher and avoid switching stirrers between the small and large pitchers and other large pitchers that you may have.
Q. How much wax can the jug hold?
A. Up to 1 litre of melted wax.
Q. What type of wax can I use?
A. The Candle Maker works best with soy wax especially GW464 or All Seasons Wax S16. You can also use it for most other soy and palm waxes as well as paraffin however the preset temps’ will give varying results. The latest V2.0 is also suitable for for beeswax in high heat mode and gives you greater control over temperature settings.
Q. Can this larger jug be used on my Candle Maker?
A. Yes, the jug has been designed to fit into the cradle of your Candle Maker perfectly.
Q. How do I wash the jug?
A. With soy wax you’ll simply need a dash of detergent and swish around with warm water. Then dry and you’re done. Do this every time you use it. For beeswax you should use boiling water and detergent for an initial wash, followed by two or three further washes with warm soapy water.
Do not put your jug in the dishwasher or immerse in water.
Q. How do I clean the magnetic stirrer attachment?
A. If you clean your jug after each use your magnetic stirrer should not require any special attention however if this becomes clogged with wax it will affect the performance of the unit. The magnetic stirrer is easy to remove for cleaning but be carful to ensure that the jug has cooled before removing the stirrer. The stirrer should always spin freely.
Do not use this jug in a microwave.
Caution, the jug is hot after use, be careful not to touch anything other than the wooden handle until the jug has cooled.
Always place a hot jug on a protective surface.
